weekend plans; September 24 + 25

This is what my weekend looked like; tea, knitting, and Mock the Week. Maybe the occasional bit of History homework, but really rarely. The moment I pulled out my teapot was the moment Autumn had started for me. The weather sure seems to agree with that. As odd as it may sound, I love when the sound of pouring rain wakes me up in the middle of the night.

red roses and burnt noses.

Current nails. Sadly, starting to chip. More like, sadly (I'M) starting to chip (AT IT). Either way, will be having to re-do my nails soon.

In other news, the sun has seemed to set for the winter. Where I live, it seems to have two seasons, construction and winter. Such fun.

high-waists and collars and pumps, oh my!

Fashion designer Ulyana Sergeenko has come out with her new fall line and like her own personal style, it gives off a Mad Men meets Moscow kinda vibe. Full of peter-pan collars, long skirts, and plenty of buttons, she could do no wrong. I love the way she takes the flirty styles of the 40's(through 60's)and vamps it up for modern day wear. I am almost 100% sure I would kill for that little white number. Not only is Ulyana a fantastic designer, she's also a photographer and continues to make my jaw drop. Amazing styles, amazing designs, and amazing photography, plenty of reasons to admire miss Sergeenko.

See the rest of the collection here.

caught my eye: semi-formal.

  1. Acne Uniform Dress $480
  2.  Acne Eve Dress $420
  3. H&M Leather Dress $40
  4. Alice + Olivia Tessie Tulle Dress $190
  5. Topshop Dress £75
  6.  Mulberry Flower Dress £1,500
I'm currently in the shops for a "semi-formal" dress for my grad photos. I think right now short sleeved dresses are winning me over, especially for photos(don't feel like looking naked in all my headshots...).

99 Problems - Hugo

Hugo Chakrabongse Levy, known by his stage name Hugo, is a NYC-based half-Thai half-British singer known for his bluegrass cover of Jay-Z's 99 Problems which was featured in the new remake of Fright Night(which I advise to watch, quite good but my opinion may be warped by images of David Tennant in leather pants...). He is signed on to Jay-Z's label Roc Nation and his new album Old Tyme Relgion debuted in May of this year.

I highly recommend giving this a listen, and the rest of the tracks off his new album. It's definitely a toe tapper and hey, if it can make me dance(well what I call dancing...) then the song's doing something right. It's a perfect late summer song.

It was a nice day for a walk... IN LONDON. No, I wish. Walking along the street we found Sherlock`s Cafe. They sold British sweets and gifts. I am hoping to go back and apply for a job... Or just to lurk.
